Sailing by at Sunset

The coldest month in Kona is February; with an average high in February is 80 F while the average low is 64 F. August is the warmest month with an average high is 87 F while the average low is 69 F. Humidity is between 50% and 80%.

Mornings are typically clear while thermal clouds created in the day raises the temperature during the day.

Here you will be front and center to view the turtles, eels, dolphins, whales, colorful fish, surfers, swimmers, marine traffic, and more. We have come to the Big Island several times & this is the best Kona location we have stayed in. The condo had everything we needed – including plastic wrap to store your leftovers or half grapefruit, papaya, etc. We appreciated the small cooler to pack water, snacks, etc. for the longer day trips & were also glad for the beach towels. The lanai was perfect for breakfast in the morning, afternoon relaxing cocktail or dinner in. (we don’t need to eat out every night, especially after a long day, grab some Killer Tacos & all set). Loved the place. Will definitely consider coming back next time we come to Kona. Very quiet, no street noise or neighbor noise. “

” I just wanted to let you know much we enjoyed the condo. It had everything that we needed plus was nice, clean, and comfortable. It’s such a great location for walking to town; restaurants, shops. and the Farmers Market. I think we spent 1/2 our time sitting on the lanai watching the water with the cruise ships, Para sailors, kayakers, etc.. There’s nothing better then listening to the ocean at night while falling asleep.”

“This is a fantastic place to stay. We walked to the farmers market and coffee shop each morning and returned with our goodies to enjoy on the lanai. Decor was perfect and many additional beach items were provided….The kitchen had all the necessary pieces to cook delicious dinners which we once again enjoyed on the lanai. (We did venture out of the condo but I can’t say enough good things about the lanai and the view). We saw dolphins spinning and flopping their way up and down the coast. Dinner and a show! This place is on its own road off Alii Dr so you don’t get the road noise that some places have. We would highly recommend this place.”

The kitchen is well-equipped for those who want the option of cooking.

The lanai is so inviting it’s hard to have meals away except if you want to pack a lunch to take with you to the beach.

There is a blender and plenty of quality cookware and utensils. Plenty of friends have been entertained with lovely meals on the lanai using the cook’s selection of cookware for all types of cooking.

A tall vase is perfect for holding tropical flowers bought inexpensively from the Farmer’s Market walking distance from the apartment.

As you chop and slice you have a nice view of the ocean, the lanai, and the cherished Kona sunset. The color scheme is pleasant to the eye and the kitchen clean and tidy.

Fill a bowl with papaya, have a nice cup of coffee in the morning and you will have begun your day in paradise perfectly.

It’s not unusual in the morning to see the outrigger canoes going by or a school of spinner dolphins putting on a show.

The bathroom was redone with new cabinetry, a granite counter top, and a custom tiled shower with pineapple trim. The bathroom shines with easily accessible custom features that give the apartment a tasteful look and updated accent that matches the rest of the apartment. Fluffy towels greet you and there is room in the shower to wash the salt water off your snorkel gear and swim suits.

It has comfortable seating, an inside table with two chairs, a comfortable chair for reading with an ottoman, a couch, stools by the breakfast bar, a surge protector for electronics, wifi, and a cable television with dvd player.

There are binoculars for spotting wildlife and marine traffic. Maps, guidebooks, and printed material about the Big Island will help guests to enjoy exploring the many attractions of the Big Island.

What better place to have dinner?

Hale Kona Kai is walking distance to Kona Village and several nice beaches — you may well choose not use your car as walking is so pleasant and the temperature so mild.

The Farmer’s Market will provide you with fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, and coffee. The lanai has one of the best views in town so the fully-equipped kitchen makes eating in a good option too. When you want variety you are walking distance to at least a dozen restaurants, of all different cuisines.

The paramount issue you may have on this Big Island is where to explore first and then no doubt how to get back again!
