If it’s day time it’s usually sunny in Kailua-Kona, on the island of Hawaii known as “the Big Island.” Visitors to Hawaii generally begin their experiences on Oahu or perhaps Maui but once they have been to the Big Island, with the great weather and myriad of activities they generally slip it to the top of their list of places to return to.

Kona is the perfect place to stay as you begin to explore the history and many sacred sites of the Big Island.

The coldest month in Kona is February; with an average high in February is 80 F while the average low is 64 F. August is the warmest month with an average high is 87 F while the average low is 69 F. Humidity is between 50% and 80%.

Mornings are typically clear while thermal clouds created in the day raises the temperature during the day.

We suggest that you stay at modestly priced and adored Hale Kona Kai http://www.vrbo.com/154937, a small private oceanfront condo complex. Here you will be front and center to view the turtles, eels, dolphins, whales, colorful fish, surfers, swimmers, marine traffic, and more. Although centrally located it is on a quiet street off Alii Drive away from traffic noise. It is the perfect place to take off on foot to see the local attractions day and night.

Highly recommended!

I just wanted to let you know much we enjoyed the condo. It had everything that we needed plus was nice, clean, and comfortable. It’s such a great location for walking to town; restaurants, shops. and the Farmers Market. I think we spent 1/2 our time sitting on the lanai watching the water with the cruise ships, Para sailors, kayakers, etc.. There’s nothing better then listening to the ocean at night while falling asleep.

I’m already trying to figure out when we can go back. I’ve also passed out a couple of your business cards to friends at work that are looking for a place to stay there.
